As this year is winding down, I've spent a lot of time reflecting on this past year, and how lucky I feel to have found my loving pup through your organization. In April, I adopted Caley (now known as Izzy). She was a timid little gal when I brought her home; curious of her new surroundings, but also apprehensive about whether this would be her new forever home. Caley had already been taken home by one family and returned because of the fear that she is a "pit bull". I'm so happy that family sent her back, because I can't even remember what my life was like before she found me!
Izzy has grown into a sweet, loving, and playful pup and we celebrated her first birthday earlier this month. She has successfully graduated from two obedience classes and I'm hoping to go through Canine Good Citizenship training with her in January or February. She's still a bit shy with strangers and unfamiliar things, so I think CGC will be so good for her. She loves to play with other dogs, and has lots of friends at the doggy daycare she goes to. Her very favorite friends though are a pup she met through our training classes that she plays with each week named Aspen, and her buddy Thor who lives across the street. If she can't wrestle with her buds though, she loves to play fetch with her tennis balls, or chew on her elk antlers. She also spends a fair amount of time just cuddling with me. She's brought so much joy and laughter to my life! Thank you for giving her another chance, and for helping me find her!
